Police say the robbery occurred in Brooklyn Park on Friday, and charges are pending against the suspect whose name was not released.

Suspect Steals Game System, Assaults Man with Skateboard

A man told police that his video game system was stolen and that he was assaulted with a skateboard in Brooklyn Park on Friday afternoon.

According to a press release from Anne Arundel County police, officers from the Northern District responded to the 100 block of Elizabeth Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a robbery report about 4:15 p.m. Friday.

The man reported that the known suspect punched and assaulted him, stole the game system and fled on foot, according to police. The man's injuries were reportedly not life-threatening, but police said he was transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police confirmed the identity of the suspect, but have not released his name, and charges of robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft under $1,000 are being applied for via District Court.
