Gas Odor In Havre de Grace Under Investigation

The Susquehanna Hose Company and BGE investigated an odor reported in parts of the city.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — An odor of natural gas was reported in different areas around Havre de Grace Friday morning, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company. Firefighters said crews were investigating.

"If you have an odor in your area, don’t hesitate to call 911," the Susquehanna Hose Company advised. "We currently believe there is no threat to public safety; however we are continuing to check and evaluate."

In addition, BGE was alerted and was also working on the situation.

BGE advises those who smell natural gas to leave the area immediately and call the utility company at 1-800-685-0123.

The Susquehanna Hose Company reported Friday afternoon that crews were continuing to investigate.

There was no evidence of a gas leak, according to a message from the city.
