County Executive Kevin Kamenetz on Monday will recognize of the for winning the Restaurant Association of Maryland's Chef of the Year Award.
“The 'Chef of the Year' goes to the chef that displays artistry of food, dedication to community and has a well-rounded establishment,” said Marshall Weston, president and CEO of the restaurant association. “Chef Boston was an outstanding choice.”
The association bestowed the title on Boston at the 57th annual Stars of the Industry Gala on May 16.
“It’s one of those things that gets in your blood, and never gets out,” Boston, 44, said. “We try to make memories here. Our business is to accommodate. We want to provide our customers with a good time.”
Larry Wilhelm, president of the Friendly Farm Restaurant in Upperco, will also be honored for receiving the Brice & Shirley Phillips Lifetime Industry Achievement Award. This award honors a restaurateur who exemplifies the business principles and character of Brice and Shirley Phillips, founders of Phillips Seafood Restaurant.
The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in Towson's Historic Courthouse.
