Two suspects drove away in a black Dodge pickup truck, police said.

Police Say Burglars Smashed Macy's Window at Columbia Mall

Authorities are investigating an attempted burglary at  The Mall in Columbia Wednesday morning, according to the  Howard County Police Department.

At 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to an incident at Macy's located in the mall at 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway, police said.

Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services was called to the scene for a report of a vehicle in to the building and instead found a broken window from the burglary, fire officials reported just after 5 a.m.

According to police, two men smashed a store window and entered the store, where they were confronted by a store employee.

The men left without taking anything and were seen driving a black Dodge pickup truck, police said.
