Report: Video Depicts Laurel Police Hitting Handcuffed Man

The Laurel Police Department is investigating an incident involving an officer striking a handcuffed man at a bar early Sunday, according to a report.

News4 is reporting that a witness captured a video of a Laurel police officer repeatedly striking a handcuffed man over the face and head during an apparent arrest at Laurel Station Bar and Grill over the weekend.

According to the report, police were called at 2 a.m. to the bar along the 14900 block of Baltimore Avenue after a fight broke out between patrons. In the video, two officers are seen taking a man away in handcuffs while one of the officers began yelling and striking the man.

“He punched him one time. He punched him again. He punched him again,” Craig Reddix, the witness, told News4.

A shift supervisor for the department reported the incident to the chief, according to News4.
