The Department of Transportation will meet with community members about the project Wednesday evening.

Brick Sidewalks Among Changes Proposed For Greemount Corridor

Brick sidewalks and intersections could be coming to York Road and Greenmount Avenue. 

Residents will have the chance to speak with Department of Transportation officials on Wednesday about the proposed streetscape project along Greenmount Avenue and York Road.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at the Waverly branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, 400 E. 33rd St.

According to an email from Adrienne Barnes, a department spokeswoman, the proposed improvements include:

  • Brick sidewalks
  • Neighborhood corridor signs
  • Fully bricked intersections
  • Decorative crosswalks
  • Improved landscaping
  • Street amenities like benches and bike racks
  • Stormwater management
