City Set to Announce Clean Community Winners

Seventy-one communities are competing for the prizes provide by Wheelabrator Technologies and Waste Management.

City Set to Announce Clean Community Winners

Next week eight communities will receive between $1,000 and $5,000 individually for winning Baltimore’s first Clean Community Competition.

The winners out of 71 competing communities will be announced at 9 a.m., Oct. 27 at the War Memorial Plaza, according to a news release.

The competition kicked off on April 21 during the Mayor’s Spring Clean Up and the participating communities were judged on use of trashcan lids, decreases in alley and street cleaning requests among other categories.

There will be four first place winners that will be awarded $5,000 and four-second place winners that will get $1,000 and they will be chosen from different sections of the city.
