The Ravens won’t be the only ones looking for a little payback in their AFC Championship rematch against the New England Patriots.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who ended up sending crab cakes to Boston Mayor Thomas Menino after the Ravens choked last year, is betting the Russell Street crows will come through in 2013, according to a news release.
"On Sunday the Baltimore Ravens, led by Coach John Harbaugh, quarterback Joe Flacco and All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis will bring their potent offense and crushing defense to Foxboro, and soundly defeat the New England Patriots," Rawlings-Blake said in the release. "Under the leadership of Coach Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens have become stronger, smarter, and more fundamentally sound every year. The New England Patriots can be assured that the AFC Championship will be a most uncomfortable home game, and a defeat they will not soon forget."
Again, Rawlings-Blake will send Menino a variety of local foods, highlighted by broiled J.W. Faidley Seafood crab cakes, should the hometown team lose. If the Patriot’s lose, Menino will also send a variety of local foods including seafood from Red’s Best Seafood.
Rawlings-Blake won her last bet—after losing her previous two—with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. Hancock, in addition to sending Rawlings-Blake steaks, was supposed to do his imitation of linebacker Ray Lewis' pregame dance. But he hasn't been able to come through with that yet because of an injury.
