Plane Crash at Fort Meade Airport
The plane lost power shortly after takeoff; the pilot landed on grass near the runway.

A plane crashed just before 2 pm. Sunday at Tipton Airport, 7515 Fort Meade, according to the Maryland State Police.
Authorities say a 1965 Mooney aircraft attempted to take off from the airport with a flight plan to Florida. Once it was airborne, the aircraft lost power due to unknown mechanical reasons.
The pilot Paul Antoinette, 48, of Baltimore, attempted to return and land at Tipton Airport.

Antoinette was unable to make it back to a runway and the plane landed in a grassy area off the runway.
There were no injuries.
