Owings Mills will get a little bit sweeter by the holiday season with a new cupcake shop coming to town.
Charm City Cupcakes will open its fourth location at 9101 Reisterstown Road in the Valley Village Shoppes in time for the 2012 holiday season. The shopping center currently includes tenants such as Lenny’s Deli, Cosi and Sofi’s Crepes.
Charm City offers more than 100 flavors of cupcakes, and the Owings Mills location will also have its signature coffee blend and hot chocolate. Cupcake flavors include the Black-Eyed Susan, a vanilla cake with chocolate mousse and butter cream icing, Gourmet Turtle, a chocolate cake filled with caramel and topped with chocolate butter cream icing, and Gourmet Mint Chocolate, a chocolate cake mix topped with mint butter cream icing, according to a press release.
The cupcakery was founded in 2005 by Sandra Long after she left her position as deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. The fourth-generation baker opened her first shop in an Inner Harbor Pavilion, and later expanded to Mt. Washington and the main campus of Johns Hopkins University, according to a press release.
Long uses fresh homemade ingredients and does not use preservatives.
