Satyr Hill Man Arrested, Charged In Two Burglaries

A Satyr Hill man has been arrested and charged in two burglaries.

Matthew Ryan Hensler, 23, of the unit block of Carriage Walk Court, faces charges of first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, attempted malicious destruction of property, possession of marijuana, and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.

He was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

Around 9:25 a.m. Feb. 19, police responded to the 9000 block of Waltham Woods Road for reports of a suspicious person. A witness told officers that a man had been knocking on the door of a home; officers saw that a rear patio door on the home had a bent frame, according to a police report.

While investigating that location, officers were called to the nearby unit block of Class Court, where they found a door kicked in and a person waling around the lower level of a home, the report states.

Officers then arrested Hensler and transported him to Parkville precinct where he admitted to trying to break into both homes in search of narcotics, according to a police report.

While in custody Hensler managed to remove a handcuff and tried to get back his wallet which contained pills, the report states.
