Former Perry Hall TSA Agent Sentenced in Child Porn Case

Over a year after police found child pornography on a computer inside his Perry Hall home, Michael Scott Wilson has been sentenced.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced the former Transportation Security Administration agent to two years in prison and 15 years of supervised release. Upon release, Wilson must also register as a sex offender, according to an announcement by the  U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

The Baltimore County Police Department's  Crimes Against Children unit first traced shared files containing child pornography to Wilson's Perry Hall home in the 9900 block of Redwing Drive in September 2011, according to the release.

Wilson was arrested on Sept. 27. At that time, investigators found computers, digital media and CDs in a locked safe. They contained "approximately 260 images of child pornography, including videos of prepubescent females engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults. Several of the images documented the sexual abuse of minor females by adult males," the release stated.

Files were believed to have been shared across state lines, which helped qualify the case for federal charges, Vickie LeDuc, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office told Patch in March.

As Wilson awaited federal trail, stipulations of his release included travel restrictions, collection of his DNA and medical and psychological treatment. He was not allowed any unsupervised contact with a minor, LeDuc said.

After his arrest, Wilson was suspended from the TSA without pay, and has not worked with the TSA since that time, according to the release.

The  U.S. Attorney’s Office lauded the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative against child sexual exploitation and abuse.
