Friends and family members are still struggling after 68-year-old Beverly Moore was in the middle of a busy Perry Hall roadway.

Within yards of her Bourbon Court town home and holding groceries from a shopping trip at , Moore attempted to cross Seven Courts Drive shortly after 7 p.m. on Jan. 22. A vehicle stopped to allow her to cross, but a Ford 500 sedan swerved around the vehicle, , before leaving the scene.

One of Moore's neighbors said an arrest in the case would bring some consolation to the grieving neighborhood.

"We still feel the sadness. It's just so hard for us to understand how this happened," said Cindy Hill, who knew Moore for more than 20 years.

"She had already been through so much before this," Hill said, adding that Moore's husband, Jerry, had died just two years earlier.

Across from Weis and along Seven Courts, small bouquets of silk flowers rest in front a longstanding sign that asks anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact police.

A was held in that same area one week after the incident.

"It's still so hard to make sense of it all," Hill added.
