This week, transportation officials are planning nighttime closures on Interstate 95 near White Marsh due to construction on the new toll lane project.
From midnight to 8 a.m. on Saturday, southbound I-95 will be closed at the White Marsh interchange, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
From 11 p.m. on Monday to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, northbound I-95 will be closed in the same area, the authority said in a news release.
During the closures, all lanes will be closed on I-95. Traffic will be detoured onto White Marsh Boulevard (Exit 67) to eastbound Philadelphia Road (MD Route 7) to southbound or northbound I-95, according to the release.
The closures are planned if weather permits. In the case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for Wednesday, the release said.
The closures are necessary so crews can erect steel as part of the reconstruction of the White Marsh interchange at I-95/MD 43 for the Express Toll Lanes project.
The new express toll lanes are anticipated to open in late 2014, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
