A winter weather advisory is in effect for Baltimore County and Baltimore City, and Harford, Montgomery and Howard counties.

The National Weather service forecasts that about 1 inch of snow will accumulate before 9 p.m. tonight in Pikesville. But some other areas could get 2 inches, the advisory states.

The high Wednesday was to be 36 degrees, and the low tonight could be about 29 degrees, it states.

The winter storm is part of a system that will bring some snow to the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic.

Thursday could be sunny, followed by a clear night as well, the forecast states.

The high Thursday could be 42 degrees, with a low of 28 degrees.

No more precipitation is in the forecast through Tuesday, the forecast states.
