Churchill Student Receives Posse Scholarship

Good news from Montgomery County Public Schools: Twenty-three of the county school system's students—the largest number ever for the system—will receive full-tuition, four-year college scholarships from the  Posse Foundation, according to an MCPS statement.

MCPS had 15 Posse Foundation scholarship students last year. This year, the county school system's 23 student winners come from 14 schools.

Adrien Bossogo-Egoume, a student at Winston Churchill High School, will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison on the scholarship.

The full-tuition scholarships are offered by 44 colleges and universities.

"The Posse program identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential that may have been overlooked by traditional college selection processes," according to the statement. "These student teams receive professional guidance before and throughout college and provide support to one another."
