Churchill High School Presents Peter Pan the Musical

Peter Pan and the lost boys of Neverland fly onto the Winston Churchill High School stage April 19-21, 2013.

Join Peter, Wendy, John, Michael and of course Tinker Bell, who along with the Lost Boys, to battle with the sinister Captain Hook and his pirate crew. Along the journey you’ll befriend Tiger Lily and her tribe and re-awaken your belief in fairies. This musical masterwork, with orchestrations from the recent Broadway revival, includes the favorites - "Never Never Land," "I Won't Grow Up" and "I'm Flying." Peter Pan will delight the immortal child in all of us!

“This production will enthusiastically embrace the magic of childhood. The boy who never grew up is the child in all of us who is youth, joy, and freedom. Childhood magic is revealed through the contrast between a world dominated by time (the London nursery), and Neverland a timeless place where one can never grow old,” said director Lynda Scionti.  “The other childhood magic of course is the amazement of flight. WCHS’s production will be assisted by the professional flyers to bring all the magic of Peter Pan to life.”

Peter Pan the musical will be performed and produced by over a hundred student singers, dancers, actors, musicians and technicians. Directed by Lynda Scionti, with Musical Direction from Kris Sanz, Vocal Direction by Carlos Barillo, Choreography by Carlos Barillo, Lynda Scionti, Amanda Lotwin, and Amy Dalrymple, and Production Design by Evan Cook, Steven Miller, and Emily Potter.

“Peter Pan is one of the most technically complex shows we've ever staged at Churchill,” said technical director Scott Selman.  “We have an amazing group of seniors on our technical crew and we have been looking for a good project to really help them push their creative boundaries.”

Peter Pan the musical will be presented at Winston Churchill High School Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are $20 for Adults and $10 for Seniors and Kids Under 12.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.wchsarts.com or in the lobby box office outside the Bish Auditorium, 11300 Gainsborough Road, Potomac, MD 20854.  The box office will be open one hour before each performance.
