Residents Must Clear Sidewalks for Schools to Reopen
The CEO of Prince George's County Public Schools says the system needs resident to clear sidewalks so students can safely get to school.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — An all-out assault on snow-filled sidewalks is needed to get Prince George’s County Public Schools students back in the classroom, officials said.
School leaders are inspecting building interiors Thursday to be sure the school system is ready to reopen, says CEO Kevin Maxwell, but he’s asking for help from residents.

Sidewalks must be shoveled to ensure students can safely reach schools.
In a message to the community Maxwell said, “Our facilities team is reporting many neighborhood sidewalks and walkways are still filled with snow, meaning some of our students would need to walk in the street to gain access to their bus stop or school. Please lend a helping hand to the students of PGCPS by working with your neighbors to clear paths to our bus stops and schools in the area where you live. If we work together, we can create safe passages for our students and get them back in class as soon as possible.”
