On The Road

As of 7:27 a.m., one lane of southbound I-97 before Crownsville Road is closed due to a collision, according to MDOT. [Millersville, MD]

As of 7:11 a.m., a crash was reported on the eastbound ramp of MD-32 to northbound Broken Land Parkway, according to WTOP Traffic. [Capital Heights, MD/DC Border]

As of 7:09 a.m., the right should and traffic lane of southbound I-895 are closed before the exit to Shell Road, according to MDOT. [Shoreline, MD]

As of 7:07 a.m., two northbound traffic lanes of MD-97 are closed from String Street to Grace Church Road, according to MDOT. [Silver Spring, MD]

As of 7:07 a.m., a crash was reported on westbound East Capitol Street at Southern Avenue, according to WTOP Traffic. Police are on the scene directing traffic. [Washington, DC]

As of 7:05 a.m., a crash was reported in both directions on MD-3 near MD-450/Annapolis Road, according to WTOP Traffic. [Crofton, MD]

As of 6:59 a.m., one northbound traffic lane and shoulder of MD-233 are closed between Rosaryville Road and Sherwood Drive, according to MDOT. [Joint Base Andrews, MD]

As of 6:58 a.m., MD-329 at Thornton Road at Thorneton Road is closed in both directions due to a crash, according to MDOT. [Easton, MD]

As of 6:15 a.m., debris was reported in the roadway in both directions on MD-108 at Eliots Oak Drive, according to MDOT. All lanes are open. [Columbia, MD]

As of 5:53 a.m., all lane of northbound I-395/Southeast-Southwest Freeway before the 12th Street Expressway are open following an earlier crash, according to WTOP Traffic. [Washington, DC]

As of 5:17 a.m., dark traffic lights were reported in both directions on Canal Road, Northwest at Arizone Avenue, Northwest, according to WTOP Traffic. [Washington, DC]

Between Aug. 4 and 7, the Maryland Department of Transportation and the State Highway administration will be collecting traffic data on the Oceanic Drive at US 50 ramp near the Bay Bridge using a temporary traffic signal. Motorists should stay alert, according to MDOT. [Bay Bridge, MD]

On Metro

As of 7:55 a.m., downed trees in the 800 block of Kearney Street, Northeast are causing delays in both directions on Metrobus Routes H8 and H9, according to Metro. [Washington, DC]

Local and Express shuttle bus service available at Stadium-Armory due to the summer platform improvement project, according to Metro. Several stations in Maryland on the Orange Line are closed due to the project: Minnesota Avenue, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover, and New Carrollton. [Washington, DC]

DC Weather

Hot and humid conditions are expected to continue Friday in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area, according to the National Weather Service forecast. The heat index is expected to approach 100 degrees.

A line of slow-moving thunderstorms will pass through the region on Friday afternoon, increasing the risk off flooding, according to NWS.

The weather will be partly sunny on Friday, with a chance of thunderstorms, some heavy, passing through the D.C. area in the afternoon, according to the AccuWeather forecast. At 7:45 a.m., the temperature in Rockville, Maryland was 70 degrees. Expect a high temperature of 90 and a low of 73.
