Pedestrian Dies From Injuries in Germantown Accident (Update)

Montgomery County Police say the Germantown driver was also injured in Friday evening's crash. The pedestrian died Saturday.

A man hit by a car while crossing Route 355 Friday night in Germantown has died from his injuries at Suburban Hospital, police said.

Montgomery County Police say the accident happened just after 6 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 355, just north of Scenery Drive. The pedestrian, identified as Damien Anthony Denning, 47, of an unconfirmed address, was crossing in the 19600 block of Route 355. A 1998 Chevrolet Malibu was northbound on Route 355 and struck Denning while he was in the traffic lanes.

The driver of the Chevrolet is identified as James Wesley Ford, 52, of Appledowre Court in Germantown. Ford was taken to Holy Cross Germantown with non-life threatening injuries.

This collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact police at 240-773-6620.
