Police Identify 22-Year-Old Found Shot to Death
The body of the Montgomery Village man was found by passersby on Monday; he may have died 2 days earlier, police say.
Authorities say the man found dead in the woods near the 18200 block of Contour Road in Montgomery Village was shot to death.
Montgomery County Police identified the victim as Roberto Gutierrez Cruz, 22, of the 18400 block of Lost Knife Road in Montgomery Village.
On Tuesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Cruz’s death was a homicide. Detectives believe that Cruz was shot up to 48 hours before passersby found his body and called 911 Monday.
