Prospective Teachers Wanted For Montgomery County Public School Job Fair

ROCKVILLE, MD — Want to work for Montgomery County Public Schools? The Office of Human Resources and Development is holding a spring Teacher Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1.

This job fair has a focus on certified teachers in the following content areas: middle and high school science, middle and high school math, ESOL, special education, English, computer science/technology, world languages and elementary.

The general teacher summary description is:

"Under direction of the school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student. Supervises students in a variety of school related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community. Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities."

Prospective teachers should understand the MCPS curriculum, policies and effective instructional practices. It is also important to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, the central office, students, parents and the community.

Potential teachers must meet Maryland state certification requirements in their appropriate field of education, and must have a Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.

Teachers can apply online to be considered for a pre-screening interview with a Human Resources' staff member for upcoming positions for the 2017-2018 school year.

The job fair is located at the Offie of Human Resources and Development at 850 Hungerford Dr., Rockville.
