New Tasti D-Lite, Relays, Runs, Car Wash and an Art Auction

This weekend offers: Free cups and cones, WoodsWork, running or walking for the American Cancer Society, Technology Trot for Shipley's Choice Elementary School and unique artwork for sale at St. Martin's-in-the-Field.

Weekend of May 13 - May 15

Grand Opening of

  • Where/When:  580 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146/ 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Fri. and Sat.
  • Why Go?:  Tasti D-Lite is a great-tasting and lower-calorie frozen dessert chain making its’ debut in Severna Park.  The following activities are scheduled for Fri. through Sun.
  • Free Tasti D-Lite small cup or cone on all three days from noon-3 p.m.
  • Attendees can register to win several prizes including a grand prize of a “Year of Free Tasti,” a free office party for 20, a kid’s birthday party for 10 and more
  • On Friday, WPOC-FM will be broadcasting from the center from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and will be giving away one pair of tickets to both Kenny Chesney and Sugarland concerts.
  • Tasti door prizes – including Tasti D-Lite pints, quarts, pies, Tasti TreatCards, and more – will be given out throughout the weekend.
  • Ceremonial ribbon cutting at noon on Saturday.
  • A portion of the proceeds from the grand opening weekend will be donated to Robert A. Pascal Youth and Family Services Foundation.
  • Pricing: Free to attend, pricing vary for food purchased


Arnold Annapolis

  • Where/When: 1450 Generals Hwy, Crownsville, MD 21032 (Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds) /6:30 p.m. Fri. –  7 a.m. Sat.

  • Pricing:  Free admission with all proceeds from on-site events donated to the American Cancer Society.

Art Auction

  • Where/When: , 375 Benfield Rd, Severna Park, MD 21146 /7:30 p.m. Sat.
  • Why Go?:  Find some unique art while helping the St. Martin's in the Field Youth Ministry. Shipley’s Choice Technology Trot 5k and 1 Mile Run

  • Where/When: , 310 Governor Stone Pkwy, Millersville, MD 21108 / 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Sun.
  • Why Go?:  Support SCES and get some exercise too!  The 1 Mile Run begins at 8:00 a.m. The race is around the school and is for Grades 5 and younger. The 5K Race begins at 8:30 a.m. The 5K begins and ends at the school. The course is mostly flat with rolling hills through the community. Mile markers at 1 & 2 miles. Water station at Mile 2. Finish line provided by Annapolis Striders.
