Sandy Causes Power Outages in Severna Park

Several people in the Severna Park area have reported power outages as a result of Hurricane Sandy, which began pounding Anne Arundel County on Monday morning.

As of 4 p.m., BGE is reporting that 4,214 costumers in Anne Arundel County are without power. However, what is perhaps more surprising is that 4,943 customers have already had their power restored.

My power went out around 1:30 p.m. and was restored by 2:45 p.m., and a few other residents are reporting similar experiences.

Melissa Berg Snyder commented on Severna Park Patch’s Facebook page that power was out for three hours, and then restored at Benfield Road and Blackshire Road near the Chartwell community.

Jen Lockridge, an Arnold resident, commented that she lost power around 1:30 and it was restored at 2:40 p.m.

Just before 2 p.m. residents of the Fair Oaks, Carrollton Manor and Cape McKinsey—all in Severna Park—reported they had not lost power.
