The man convicted for robbing a Family Dollar in Fairland with a pellet gun last year was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office announced.
Kairee D. Dorsey, 22, of the 13600 block of Sir Thomas Way in Silver Spring, received concurrent sentences of 15 years for the armed robbery and 10 years each for two counts of second-degree assault, the State’s Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
On November 28, 2012, Dorsey held up the Family Dollar store
at 13817 Outlet Drive, threatening to kill two employees if they didn’t comply
with his orders. He made off with $1,100, according to charging documents filed in court.
Montgomery County police said Dorsey ran when police to apprehend him hours after the robbery—prompting an officer to fire a shot, police said.
No one was injured.
Dorsey was convicted June 28 for armed robbery and two counts of second-degree assault, but he was found not guilty on two counts of first-degree assault, according to Montgomery County Circuit Court records accessed online.
