On the PurpleCouch, A Place to Create is a new concept from Bahia Akerele, its owner who chose to focus more on Home Décor and our anchor product Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. Chalk Paint® has helped to fuel a passion that many people have of reviving their home with painted furniture all the while reusing what they might already have. Annie Sloan distributes her product exclusively to small businesses around the world and chose On the Purple Couch to be that vehicle in the Silver Spring and Kensington area of the DC metro area. #morethanpaint
On the PurpleCouch is a place to CREATE, we teach workshops on how to create beautiful furniture painted pieces using Annie Sloan’s awesome products. You can find great furniture and accent pieces for your home as well as the glorious smelling the Nest Fragrances candles. #nestfragrances
On the Purple Couch,is not just a home décor store, it’s a store with a purpose and a mission~ to reuse, renew and conserve. “ It’s a mix of my life and my experiences of livingin some of the most beautiful places in the world and experiencing all of the sites, sounds and color combined with a passion for living and doing good in the world.” comments Akerele
Our values are to community and to add to the improvement of the enhancement of peoples self image and home..
