A new master plan for White Oak would pave the way for mixed-use, transit-oriented development, with scientific research boosting economic growth in the area, planners say.
Community members had an opportunity to testify about a draft of the master plan at a public hearing last week before the Montgomery County Planning Board.
Local blogger Dan Reed writes on Just Up the Pike that "all but a handful of the 35 speakers" at the public hearing spoke in favor of the plan.
Reed pulled together some of his best tweets from the public hearing on his blog. Check out his full analysis at Just Up the Pike.
What's next? In June and July, the Planning Board will hold worksessions to discuss the plan, taking into account the public feedback received at the public hearing.
Now it's your turn: Tell us in the comments what you think of the plan. What are its strengths and weaknesses? Is there anything you'd like to change?
