A Dominican restaurant and adjacent auto body shop in Takoma Park sustained an estimated $350,000 damage in a fire, officials say.
TAKOMA PARK, MD โ A restaurant and auto body shop in Takoma park sustained an estimated $350,000 in damage from an early morning fire on Thursday, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. Spokesman Pete Piringer said on Twitter that firefighters were called about 5 a.m. to the fire at 8640 Flower Ave., home of Manna Restaurant and a body shop next door.
NBC Washington reports the fire started in a shared wall between the two businesses. Firefighters arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the roof of the building.
Piringer said while investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire, it began near the building's heating system and is believed to be accidental.
