Firefighters Investigate Odor In Timonium Area: Officials

Public safety officials converged in the Lutherville-Timonium area to look into a natural gas smell on Monday, Dec. 3.

LUTHERVILLE-TIMONIUM, MD โ€” Firefighters were in the Lutherville-Timonium area Monday morning investigating an odor, according to officials. There was a natural gas odor, the Baltimore County Fire Department reported.

After 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, officials said they were at the scene of West Timonium Road and Greenspring Drive.

Nobody was injured, and no buildings were evacuated, according to authorities, who said multiple fire crews would be in the vicinity while officials investigated.

After BGE checked eight buildings for gas leaks and odors, officials told The Baltimore Sun that nothing was found, and the Baltimore County Fire Department reportedly said that the smell "dissipated on its own."

Two people responded to the Baltimore County Fire Department's post about the gas odor, one saying that the smell gave her a headache when it first started Monday morning and the other stating that it took "quite a while for the smell to dissipate" at a building on Deereco Road.
