Police Blotter: Dec. 26-Jan. 3

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Dec. 26 - Jan. 3. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton.

Armed robbery

An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 3300 block of Weller Road, Silver Spring, on Dec. 30 at 8:00 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. Arrested: Hispanic male, 16, from Silver Spring; Hispanic male, 15, from North Kensington; Hispanic male, 16, from Silver Spring.

An armed robbery occurred at Randolph Road and Goodhill Road, Wheaton on Dec. 30 at 9:30 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Suspects: two black males, each 18-25, 6’, 150-170.

Vehicle theft

A vehicle theft occurred on Dec. 29 on Georgian Woods Place, Wheaton. A Mitsubishi. Arrested: male, 15 years, from Wheaton.

Aggravated assault

An aggravated assault occurred in the 3400 block of Floral Street, Silver Spring on Dec. 31 at 3:00 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim. Arrested: male, 41, from Silver Spring.

Residential burglaries

  • 12100 block of Foley Street, Silver Spring on Dec. 29 between 10:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
  • 11000 bock of Burnley Terrace, Silver Spring on Dec. 26 between 2:00 p.m. and 8:07 p.m. No sign of forced entry. Property taken.
  • 10700 block of Huntley Avenue, Silver Spring on Dec. 30 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:08 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
