ICYMI: Canoeist Found Dead on Fort Pond in Littleton

LITTLETON, MA—The body of a canoeist was discovered off the shore of Fort Pond Saturday night, according to Littleton Police.

Police announced Sunday that the body of a 23-year-old Boston man was discovered 20 to 30 feet off the shore of Fort Pond in Littleton. Police received calls of a missing canoeist at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

"This is a tragic ending to a holiday weekend adventure," Littleton Police Chief King said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved, and we ask everyone to remain extra vigilant as their weekend continues."

Police also stated that the man had gone canoeing by himself at around 7 p.m. and never returned.
