Andover Songstress’ American Idol Run Is Over

Andover Songstress’ American Idol Run Is Over

Casey McQuillen may no longer be an American Idol, but she has garnered quite a fan base after her brief appearance on the network show.

McQuillen, an Andover native, made it to the Top 75 out of 200 contestants, but was voted off of the show by judges Wednesday night.

“Thank you for all of your support,” McQuillen said on her Facebook page after Wednesday’s American Idol show aired. “It’s been a crazy ride.”

McQuillen told judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban that her turn on American Idol was “just a stop” and “not the whole journey.”

“And they agreed,” she said.

“The judges were incredibly supportive and complimentary,” she added. “I left Hollywood feeling better about my career than ever before.”

McQuillen, a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, said she’ll be performing and releasing new music soon.

Fans posted supportive messages to McQuillen on her Facebook and Twitter pages.

“I’m so humbled and grateful,” she said Wednesday of her growing fan base.
