Thief Leaves Behind ‘Big Gulp’ at Fairmont Residence

Thief Leaves Behind ‘Big Gulp’ at Fairmont Residence

Police responded to a Fairmont Street apartment at about 6:24 p.m. Monday for a report of a recent break-in.

After clearing the unit, police spoke to the alleged victim who said that someone had broken into her apartment sometime between 8:25 a.m. and 6 p.m. that day and stolen more than $10,000 worth of electronics and jewelry.

Police believe that the perpetrator entered the apartment through a window next to the unit’s front door. Police found a “Big Gulp” cup from 7-Eleven in the apartment. The alleged victim said that the cup was not there when she left in the morning.

 

Raccoon Put Down by Police

Police responded to Piedmont Street at about 7 p.m. Monday for a report of a raccoon that was walking “very awkwardly” and hissing. Police exterminated the raccoon with a varmint gun.

Man Admits to Shoplifting Sandals from Walgreens

Police responded to the in East Arlington at about 11:21 a.m. Monday for a report of a recent theft.

Once there, police spoke to two employees who said that a man had just shoplifted unknown merchandise from the store.

Police soon located a man matching the suspect’s description and questioned him about the incident. The man admitted to stealing a pair of sandals, priced at $7.99, from the store, police said.

An assistant manager from the store was satisfied with the returned merchandise and police telling the man not to return to the store.
