For the second time this season the Attleboro Bombardiers came away with a 20 plus victory over the Dartmouth Indians!  Freshman Sarah Deyo opened up the scoring for the home team, followed by Senior Captain Beth Clifton’s basket.  Sophomore Emily Houle added 2 free throws and a Deyo 3 ended the first quarter with Attleboro holding a 9-4 lead.


 Clifton opened up the second quarter with a put-back and was fouled in the process, resulting in a successful free throw.  Attleboro stepped up the intensity of their play, during the segment.  Junior Kim Runey scored from inside, followed by a Houle basket.  Clifton was successful on 1 of 2 free throws and a Runey hoop increased Attleboro’s lead to 19-6.  Houle had a hot hand during the period and added 2 more drives to the hoop.  With an outside shot by Senior Karissa Hand and Runey hitting the back end of her 2 free throws, Attleboro held a commanding 26-9 lead, going into the locker room.


In the third quarter Runey scored first for Attleboro, hitting on 2 free throws, followed by a put-back.  Deyo scored on 1 of her 2 free throws and her inside hoop continued to increase the margin between the Bombardiers and Indians.  Coach Traversi was able to substitute freely, using bench and starter combinations.  A basket by Sophomore Emma Vlashi ended the quarter with Attleboro in control, 37-16.


Deyo’s basket started the final quarter scoring for the blue.  Put backs by Clifton, Houle and Deyo saw Attleboro take a decisive 46-21 victory.


Deyo led the Bombardier scoring with 13 points and 7 rebounds.  Houle added 12 points and a season high 13 rebounds.  Runey chipped in with 9 points and 7 boards.  Clifton dropped in 8 points and was a force inside, pulling down 12 rebounds.  Hand handed out 4 assists.


Attleboro won the battle of the boards, 54-35.


Wednesday the Bombardiers will host Foxboro at 6:30.
