Camper Catches Fire, Closes Popular Barnstable Trail

A camper fire closed part of the ORV Trail at Sandy Neck Beach. The fire has been put out, and officials are working to reopen the trail.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A portion of Sandy Neck Beach was closed on Wednesday morning after a camper caught fire in Barnstable.

The Town of Barnstable posted photos of the fire, noting that the ORV portion of Sandy Neck Beach was closed at 10 a.m.

Sandy Neck staff and the West Barnstable Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire as of 11 a.m. No injuries were reported.
