EASTHAM, MA — A man drowned in Great Pond in Eastham Tuesday night, police said. The victim was identified as Paul Daley, 54, of Eastham. Police said he was in a small boat that overturned. His body was found about 100 feet from shore in about 15 feet of water.
"A witness from shore reported seeing a boat overturned and a person in the water calling for help," Eastham police said in a statement. First responders arrived at about 5:45 p.m. but were initially unable to locate Daley, police said.
His body was found about an hour later after a search involving the Barnstable County dive team, a Coast Guard helicopter, a drone operated by a retired Dennis firefighter and rescue boats from Eastham, Orleans and Wellfleet, police said.
