Hyannis-Bound Plane Crash Was Medical Flight

The two men killed in the crash were flying for Angel Flight, a volunteer transport service.

HYANNIS, MA – The two men killed when their Hyannis-bound plane crashed in South Jersey were flying for the volunteer medical service Angel Flight, according to reports. Robert Winner, 69, and Timothy Scannevin, 71, of Burlington County, NJ, died in the crash in Springfield Township.

Winner, who was piloting the Hawker Beechcraft 58 Baron aircraft, and Scannevin were the only people on the plane when it crashed. They were expected to pick up a patient out-of-state and end up at Barnstable Municipal Airport, according to NBC Boston.

The plane left South Regional Airport just after 9 a.m. Wednesday and was due to arrive in Hyannis at 10:36 a.m., according to FlightAware.com. The activity log for the flight showed it went offline shortly after takeoff.

The single-engine, fixed-wing plane crashed at the intersection of Smithville-Jacksonville Road and Oxmead Road in Springfield Township shortly after 9 a.m.
