West Barnstable Fire: Pool Water Used To Extinguish Blaze
A fire tore through an unoccupied home late Wednesday night.
WEST BARNSTABLE, MA – Emergency crews had to improvise to quell a fast-moving fire at a home in West Barnstable Wednesday night. According to reports, the fire began at 10:15 at 194 Lothrops Lane, which was unoccupied at the time.
The homeowner told the Cape Cod Times the family had not lived there since September, and the house was almost finished undergoing repairs for flood damage. Several Cape fire departments responded to the scene.
There were no fire hydrants nearby, so firefighters used pool water to contain the blaze, reports say.
