Turn in a Gun, Go for a Run

Everyone who turns in an unwanted gun this Saturday at the Yarmouth Police Department will receive $50 off of the next pair of running or workout shoes from Hanlon Shoes, a $10 gift card to DiParma's and a $20 gift card to Powderhorn Outfitters.

From the Yarmouth Police Department:

On Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 8AM to 4PM Yarmouth Police Headquarters will serve as a collection point for anyone who has unwanted firearms or ammunition.

Having a firearm or ammunition in your home is a big responsibility and demands the highest level of respect and security. If anyone finds that they no longer want the responsibility of having a firearm or ammunition in their home please contact us and we will appropriately dispose of the items in accordance with Massachusetts laws.

Anyone who brings a firearm or ammunition to our facility must make sure it is unloaded and fully-secured. If there are any doubts about its safety please call us and a Police Officer will come to your home, safely remove it and transport it to our facility.

Everyone who turns in an unwanted gun will receive $50 off of the next pair of running, hiking or workout shoes from Hanlon Shoes, a $10 gift card for lunch or dinner at DiParma's Italian Table, Red Face Jack's Sports Pub or the Yarmouth House, and a $20 gift card to Powderhorn Outfitters.

For more information about this program please contact Yarmouth Police Records Division Officer Albert Sprague at 508.775.0445 extension 2136 or by email at asprague@yarmouth.ma.us
