The Day a Truck Fire Closed 93 South
A garbage truck that caught on fire in the O'Neill Tunnel closed down every lane of traffic on I-93 South Thursday afternoon.

A truck fire in the near Exit 23 closed all lanes of traffic on 93 South for a couple hours Thursday afternoon, sending people out of the cars to dawdle around on Boston's newest temporary parking lot.

State Police said at approximately 1:37 p.m. that the southbound lanes were closed because of a garbage truck fire in the right lane. All traffic was diverted at Exit 26 toward Storrow Drive.
Police said the two left lanes were open at approximately 3:35 p.m. All the lanes were open before 4.
