UPDATE: Interstate 93 South in Quincy Reopened After Car Fire
The highway is open, but traffic remains quite slow.

Qunicy, MA — A car fire has slowed down the Friday commute from Boston.
At 4:15 p.m., the Massachusetts State Police announced that Interstate 93 South between exits 8 and 9 is closed due to a car fire.

At 4:23 p.m., the right two lanes reopened, but the left and HOV lanes remained closed.

As of 4:33 p.m., all three travel lanes are open.

Traffic in the area is still expected to be slow. From north of Boston to the Route 24 exit, traffic is moving at less than 20 mph, according to the Total Traffic Network.
