2-Alarm Brookline Fire Under Control

Fire crews responded to a fire in a Pond Avenue condo Friday morning.

BROOKLINE, MA – A two-alarm fire at a Brookline condo was quickly extinguished Friday morning, according to reports. The fire department responded to 77 Pond Ave. around 3:50 a.m., officials said.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke could be seen coming from the fifth floor balcony and a second alarm was added.

The man who lives in the condo was treated for smoke inhalation but not hospitalized, according to Boston 25. Authorities said he helped prevent the fire from spreading by closing his doors after calling 9-1-1.

Investigators are looking at whether a possible hoarding situation contributed to the fire, according to reports.

No injuries were reported.
