Canton Much Closer to Getting a New Playground

Playground will be replaced this summer

Canton Much Closer to Getting a New Playground

Canton residents and businesses are opening their wallets to help ensure town children have the most recreational opportunities available to them.

The Farmington Bank Community Foundation recently donated $5,000 to help construct a new playground at Cherry Brook Primary School, the Hartford Courant reports.

The school’s PTO has raised $120,000 thus far and $131,500 is needed. The school board is planning to make a $10,000 contribution, the Courant reports. There are two existing playgrounds there, one for older children and one for younger youths, the Courant reports. Plans call for replacing the larger playground first this summer.
