Flu Clinic in Canton This Wednesday

The Canton Board of Health will be holding a flu clinic on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Canton Fire Department for anyone over the age of 9.

Those who attend the clinic are asked to bring their health insurance cards.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has said flu outbreaks are high for this time of the season, with "widespread activity" in Massachusetts.

To help prevent the spread of the flu in Canton, school officials have posted a page on the district's website offering links and resources for flu information and how to prevent spread of the virus from student to student.

Still need a flu shot? Find out where to get one in the Canton area. Also, below are a number of ways to help prevent spread of the flu this season:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing, and throw the tissue away after use. If a tissue isn’t available, cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
  • Wash hands often, especially after coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand-rub.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you’re sick.
