CHELMSFORD, MA — One person was killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 495 in Chelmsford early Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:40 a.m. According to police, preliminary investigation shows that a 2000 Ford Focus was going south on Interstate 495 when - for reasons still under investigation - it left the roadway, crossed the median and struck a 2017 Toyota Camry going north on the interstate. The driver of the Ford Focus was killed at the scene while the driver of the Camry was transported to Lahey Clinic with a serious injury. The crash remains under investigation.
