Art, A Musical Fashion Review and Synchronized Skating

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do this weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities you'll want to take part in this weekend in Concord and beyond.

1. 17th Annual High School Art Majors Show
Where/When: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, 130 Waltham St, Lexington; 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27
Why Go:  The selected artwork on exhibit represents the most talented art students from Arlington, Bedford, Burlington, Concord-Carlisle, Lexington, Waltham, and Minuteman high schools.The styles range from energized multi-media drawings to still life studies to architectural designs.  Other mediums represented are experimental sculptures, photography, painting and ceramics.

2.A Feast for Your Senses Party!
Where/When: Concord Art Association, 37 Lexington Road, Concord; 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27
Why Go: Concord Art Association's food sampling party and ceramics silent auction features catering by Ben Eliott of Saltbox Farm, music from Jimmy Mazzy Trio and bartenders pouring wine and craft beers. Attendees can bid on one-of-a-kind ceramic servingware hand-painted by Concord Art Association's member artists and enjoy the art featured in our "Consuming Passion: Food as Metaphor in Art" exhibit.

3. Holy Family Parish Talent and Variety Show
Where/When: 62 Monument Sq, Concord; 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27
Why Go: Holy Family Parish's third annual variety show, entitled “Holy Family’s Got Talent," and participants include musicians, stand-up comedians and poetry readers of all ages.

4. Lexington 300th Musical Fashion Revue
Where/When: Lexington High School, 251 Waltham St, Lexington; 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27
Why Go: A fundraising fashion show as part of Lexington's 300th anniversary celebrations, in "Breeches, Bloomers and Bell-Bottoms Oh My," the town's fashion history will unfold in a musical fashion show review featuring Lexington teachers town leaders, treasured staff and surprise talents.
Pricing: $10 to $30 

5. Hayden Synchronized Skating’s Season Kick-Off Exhibition
Where/When: , 24 Lincoln St, Lexington; 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28
Why Go: The season kickoff show features performances by the three-time World bronze medalists, the Haydenettes; the 2012 U.S. National bronze medalists, the Lexettes; the 2012 U.S. National Champions, the Ice Mates and Star Mates, and the 2012 National Bronze Medalists the Mini Mates. The show will also feature performances by the organization’s Shooting Stars Pre-Juvenile, Preliminary, and Pre-Preliminary teams.
