Police Log: Suspicious Contractors, a Tree-Cutting Quandary

Police Log: Suspicious Contractors, a Tree-Cutting Quandary

Monday, Dec. 30

10:04 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the District Court parking lot. As a result, a Concord resident was cited for leaving the scene of property damage and not having his license in his possession.

11:29 a.m. – AS a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of the Northeast Correctional Center on Barretts Mill Road, a Lowell woman was summonsed for operating a motor vehicle with her license suspended and no inspection sticker.

2:49 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Main Street, an Ayer woman was cited for inspection sticker violation.

3:25 p.m. – Police responded to a traffic complaint reporting a silver sedan nearly struck a woman walking a dog on Simon Willard Road.

8:35 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Walden Street, a Lexington man was given a verbal warning for defective equipment.

10:12 p.m. – An officer on patrol radioed in to report checking on a vehicle parked at the CCHS upper field lot. The occupants were sent on their way.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

12:37 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious gray moped parked next to the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Lowell Road.

9:10 a.m. – A Ministerial Driver resident called to report his neighbor was having trees cleared, and the crew was in the process of cutting a tree that was on his property. The caller, who initially reported his neighbor was having branches cut from trees that extending over his property, then decided his neighbor could have the whole tree removed if it wanted to pay for it.

9:46 a.m. – A Caller reported seeing a possibly injured deer in the area of Brigham Farm.

1:34 p.m. – A Mildred Circle resident called to express concern about a man who came to her door and showed a badge that said “Contractor Service” and asked if a neighboring house was vacant.

3:39 p.m. – Emerson Hospital requested police stand by at the ER while they restrain a patient who was nonviolent at the time.

6:41 p.m. – Police responded to a report of two vehicles stopped in the area of Main Street and Brook Trail Road. It was a disabled motor vehicle waiting for a tow.

9:44 p.m. – AS a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Concord Health Care on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, a Burlington resident was warned about a lanes violation.
