Which New Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee Was Born in Concord?
Sports fans from these parts probably know Tom Glavine -- the former Braves ace and 300-game winner who was inducted Wednesday to the Baseball Hall of Fame -- is from Billerica.

What they might not know is that he was born here, in Concord.

Glavine, who won more than 33 games and two Cy Young awards over his 22-year career in Major League Baseball, was one of three players inducted into the Hall, joining slugger Frank Thomas and former teammate Greg Maddux.

"“Humbled by my HOF selection," Glavine tweeted, "congrats to Greg Maddux and Frank Thomas as well, honored to go in with you guys."

Following the announcement of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2014, a spokesperson for Emerson Hospital confirmed Glavine, who pitched for the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets and won the World Series as a Brave in 1995, was born at the Concord hospital.
