Lovesac, a store that sells “alternative furniture,” is slated to open at the Northshore Mall in the fall.
The company is planning to open in the former Yogibo store that is near Skechers.
The company was founded in 1995 by teenager Shawn D. Nelson, who wanted to building the world’s largest beanbag.
The “sacs” are “washable, changeable, comfortable and durable furniture for TV rooms,” according to the company.
“The ‘Sacs’ that made Lovesac famous, put simply, are massively oversized bean bags filled with chopped Durafoam instead of styrene beads, and come with a two-lifetime guarantee. Durafoam is recycled from new sofa foam tailings, and is far more comfortable and resilient than bean bag beans — more like a gigantic pillow than a stiff bean bag. Lovesac’s radical invention, Sactionals, is a cross between upholstery and Legos™,” according to Lovesac.
