Committee: Thank You for 375 Bash Success

On behalf of the Dedham 375 Committee, we wish to thank all who joined us to celebrate a milestone birthday.

It was a wonderful event which brought together at least 7,500 friends and neighbors.

However, a party of this magnitude does not just happen! It takes much planning and an army of volunteers; some may have lent a hand for an hour or two, and some may have helped us for the duration of the event; nevertheless, to each volunteer, we offer our most sincere gratitude.

Under the leadership of Commander Dana McQuaid of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2017, and music by the Dedham Middle School Band and the Dedham High School Band, we were privileged to witness a most impressive tribute to the victions of 9/11 as well as a dedication of street signs to particular Veterans. Pat McDermott, Registrar of Probate sang, with great feeling, The Star Spangled Banner.

Please note that the 375 Committee has planned several more events as follows:

Oct. 22nd Day of Public Service. Join your friends and neighbors to highlight Dedham’s spirit of volunteerism. Projects will include yard work, brush clean up and painting of a town-owned property, card-making for troops serving overseas and a blood drive. Volunteers will be treated to a luncheon catered by b. good for their hard work!

Nov. 8th Townwide Ecumenical Service. Join Dedham’s clergy for an ecumenical

services commemorating the long history of Dedham’s faith community. The service begins at 6:30 p.m. at the First Church, 670 High Street.

Nov. 30th Dedham 375 Elementary Essay Contest Ceremony. The Dedham 375 Steering Committee will recognize students from each elementary school who submitted an essay for this contest at the Endicott Estate beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Dec. 2nd-5th Holiday Happenings. Stay tuned for more information on how the Dedham 375 celebration will continue throughout the town’s holiday events and activities!
